Introducing frontend live editing

by The Evolve team in Announcements, Brix

Hello folks!

Today we’re releasing an update to Brix, bringing it to version 1.2, both for the Premium version and the Lite version available on the WordPress.org plugins repository.

For the Lite version of the plugin, 1.2 is a maintenance release, fixing a couple of issues regarding the undo/redo functionality, and generally increasing its stability.

The real big announcement of this version, though, is for the premium version, which now introduces frontend live editing.

Frontend live editing is Brix’s way of showing you a live and high fidelity preview of the changes you’re making to the page layout and content, displaying it exactly how a visitor would see it.

You can access live editing right from the page editing screen, and you can perform the exact same operations you’d do with regular backend editing, only with much more precision and speed.

You’ll be able to add content, drag & drop blocks around your page and get a precise feeling of how your design is coming along in just seconds. Also, live editing supports all of the features that make Brix so great: templates injection, undo/redo, and even automatic save & publish of your data.

We think that live editing is really bringing Brix one step forward, perfectly embodying the simplicity, clarity and ease of use concepts that are at the very core of Brix.

But don’t just take our word for it: go try live editing on our online demo, and see for yourself!
