Faster DOM, Medium editor & string size calculation – development links round-up #11

by The Evolve team in Development, Links & resources

Hello everyone, we’re a day late this week, but welcome back to our usual development links round-up!

Building the DOM faster: speculative parsing, async, defer and preload

A great writeup that explains how web pages work from the browser perspective, from raw HTML code to a flexible document object.

AP Medium Editor

A lot of talk during these days in the WordPress community is inherent to the creation of the new editor, Gutenberg. If you want an alternative to the standard editor, though, you might want to go and try this plugin, which aims at mimicking the Medium writing experience.

Calculate-size

Calculate the pixel size (width/height) of a string (with integrated caching).

Okay, folks, that’s it for today. Check back in the weekend for more design inspiration links, or meet with me again next week for more development resources!
