Sublime command line, select wrapper & calculating distances in MySQL – Development links round up #6

by The Evolve team in Development, Links & resources

Hello folks, it’s monday again and we’re here with another round up of development-themed links!

TerminalView

If you’re using Sublime Text as your text editor of choice, you might have noticed that one thing that sets it a little behind Atom is the lack of integration with the OS shell. With this package, though, it is possible to have it right inside the editor as a stand-alone tab. Neat!

selectWoo

Created by the Woo people themselves, selectWoo is an accessible replacement for select2, which is a plugin that converts a standard select element into something more complex, styleable and flexible.

Calculating distance using MySQL

Ok, this might possibly be the single coolest function in MySQL: it calculates the distance between two points on planet Earth, and since it is a native function (available in MySQL 5.7 and higher), you can even perform queries with it. Just provide the coordinates for the two points, and you’re good to go!

Alright, that’s it for this week. Come back friday for more design links, or check back next week for your usual dose of nerditude!
